Ann Curry

Ann Curry was born in the United States and is an accomplished photographer as well as a journalist. Over the past forty-five years she has focused on documenting human suffering, primarily when natural catastrophes or war are occurring. Curry covered wars in Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th 1956, Agana American journalist, television anchor and news reporter who is most famous for her role as a correspondent for the Today program, which was a morning news program aired through the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry is known for reporting human-rights crises as well as natural disasters particularly in nations which have suffered the effects of war. Curry's father served as a sailor in the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. She met her mother while stationed alongside the father of her parents in Japan after World War II. Family members were constantly on the move because of the military duties of her father. Curry graduated from high school within Ashland Oregon. The University of Oregon awarded her an undergraduate degree in journalism. As a child she was exposed various kinds of cultures. Her journey to an enviable career after she began her career in broadcasting as a student intern at KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon. She was later the first news reporter female at the station, at young age of. She subsequently moved to the post of anchor and reporter at KGW which was an NBC affiliate in Portland, Oregan. After four years of service, she was hired as reporter for KCBS TV in Los Angeles. Through her six-year relationship with KCBS, she was awarded the two Emmy Awards.
